The initial documentary on these much maligned mammals outlines the worldwide usefulness of these animals and puts the Irish species into context within Europe. The life history of Ireland’s bats is outlined as are threats to their continued existence and ways on how we can all help to conserve them.
The second section is a visual field guide to each of Ireland’s known bat species and shows how to identify them in the hand. Features of confusing species are highlighted using bespoke artwork, still photography and video to make identification easy.
The third section shows how to safely capture and release a bat that has accidentally entered a dwelling or become grounded.
