Bat Sounds
These recordings were made using a heterodyne (tuneable) Bat Box III Stag Electronics bat detector and recorded to Edirol digital recorder. For the pipistrelle species, tonal quality and pitch change as you move the frequency dial on the detector. For the Myotis species such as whiskered and Daubenton’s bat, while the sounds may be louder at different frequencies, the pitch does not change as you move the frequency dial on the detector.
